Each official is elected for overlapping four-year terms with elections taking place every two years. All Council members are at large, part-time officials overseeing departments as determined by the Mayor that include: Accounting and Finances; Administration, Development and Public Operations; Public Works and Parks and Recreation. Elected officials are part-time and do not have regular office hours at City Hall. The appointed City Administrator handles the day-to-day operations of the City at City Hall under the direction of Mayor and Council. The City Administrator serves the elected City officials and the community by administering local government projects and programs on their behalf. Duties include recruitment, hiring and supervising of City staff and the coordination of efforts and communication within City departments, and with other government officials and agencies on Local, State and Federal levels, local merchants and non-profits, and businesses in the community at-large. |
