The Greensburg Police Department comes under the control of the Department of Public Affairs, headed by the Mayor. Today, Greensburg's 27 officer department includes a Chief, Captain, three Lieutenants, three Sergeants, one Detective Sergeant and one Detective. The department is also staffed with a 17 member civilian support staff. The Department consists of the following a Patrol Division, Detective Division, Tactical Sniper Team, Arson Squad, Computer Forensic investigator, Truck Inspection Team, Bicycle Team, Accident Reconstruction Team, and Street Crimes Unit. The Department is currently active members of the US Postal Inspectors Financial Crimes Task Force, PA Attorney General Drug Task Force, and P.S.P. Computer Crimes Task Force.
